Improvements
Announcements Without a Release: The notice at the top of the features window is now served from our backend rather than compiled into the extension. Announcements can be published, corrected or taken down the same day, instead of waiting on a store review. It replaces a slot whose content was fixed at build time, which once left a postponed launch date on screen for a day because taking it down required shipping a new version.
Composer Dropdowns Fit Short Windows: The // prompt list, the .. and ## chain lists, and the @@ context-mention list opened with their top edge above the viewport on short windows, hiding the search field and the first results. They now stay inside the window on all four assistants.
Bug Fixes
Manage Chats Stopped Loading Part Way: On large accounts the chat list could stall part way through, showing only a fraction of the conversations and reading as data loss. Reported by a customer whose list stopped at 67 of 958 chats.
A Long Sync Could Undo an Archive: Archiving a conversation while a full sync was running could leave the archive count unchanged, and reloading did not help. Found on a Premium account holding roughly 1,720 conversations.
Dismissing a Paywall Closed the Window Behind It: Closing an upgrade prompt also closed the surface that raised it, so a free user who pressed Export in Manage Chats and dismissed the prompt lost their selection. Audited and fixed across eight gates on Claude, Gemini and Grok.
Folders Showed Stale Chat Names: A renamed conversation kept its old name inside a folder, and a deleted conversation could stay listed in one.
Carry Forward Worked Only Sometimes: "Carry this chat forward" and "Continue in fresh chat" could produce no message and no new conversation, with nothing on screen explaining why.
Claude Top-Bar Buttons Looked Like Claude's Own: Our Export, Bookmarks and Move-to-folder buttons sat beside Claude's Share button and had come to resemble it closely enough to be misread as native.

Major Features
Export From Cross-Platform Search: The "Search all platforms" view used to only link to what it found. It now exports too: every chat the query matched leaves as a single archive, shaped exactly like a bulk export from Manage Chats, so one search across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok is one download instead of four separate trips.
Findings Export: Export the passages that matched your search instead of the conversations holding them. Each finding carries enough of the exchange around it to read on its own, including the assistant's reply and not only what you typed. Available in Markdown and TXT on all four assistants.
Keep Your Prompt Library On This Device: A setting under Settings, Prompts stores your saved prompts and prompt chains on your own machine rather than on our servers. Syncing across devices becomes something you switch on, not a condition of using the library. Raised by a customer whose prompts held a research methodology rather than a handful of shortcuts.
Floating Sidebar Panels: Your folder tree, and on ChatGPT the Pinned Folders, Pinned Chats, and Smart Tags tabs, can each be moved out of the assistant's own sidebar into a floating window you drag, resize, and keep across sessions. Docked stays the default. A panel that cannot find its place in the sidebar now moves itself out instead of not appearing at all, and returns once the sidebar is usable again.
Carry Forward From Any Chat's Menu: The cross-platform context handoff moved into the three-dot menu on any chat in the sidebar, so you can summarize a conversation and continue it elsewhere without opening it first.
Hide Filed Chats On Claude, Gemini, and Grok: The ChatGPT sidebar-declutter option now runs on the other three platforms. Hidden chats stay in their folders, still turn up in search, and the conversation you have open is never hidden.
Improvements
Faster Folder Picker (ChatGPT): The folder and project picker opens immediately on large accounts instead of reading every message of every conversation just to draw a list of titles
Bug Fixes
Gemini Menu Redesign: Gemini's August redesign removed all four AI Toolbox items from the conversation three-dot menu; restored
Long Gemini Exports: Long Gemini conversations exported only their first stretch of messages, because Gemini returns a conversation one page at a time and only the first page was being read
Folder Tree Stability: The folder tree could vanish from the sidebar and reappear on its own, on all four platforms
Floating Panel On Claude, Gemini, and Grok: The floating panel did not render on those three platforms
Carry Forward On ChatGPT: Carrying a chat into a new ChatGPT chat sent the summary on its own and then pasted it a second time, and the "Summarizing..." notice disappeared before the summary was ready
Deep Import Reporting: Deep Import could report "0 recovered" when the recovered conversations were in fact already saved
Context Window Meter: The meter sat underneath ChatGPT's expanded floating toolbox

Major Features
One Cross-Platform Library: A single extension-wide switch turns on cross-platform features. Once on, your search, Smart Tags, folders, and prompt library work across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok together, instead of being siloed per site. Everything is stored on-device and nothing is uploaded.
Cross-Platform Search, Tags, Prompts & Folders: Search all four assistants at once with results grouped by platform and deep links to each chat. Smart Tag rules, prompt and chain libraries, and folder trees can all be shared across platforms, so your organization follows you rather than your login.
Search From Any Tab: New browser-level keyboard commands (default Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+.) open cross-platform search from any Chrome tab. These use Chrome's native command system, so the update installs silently with no new permissions and you can rebind them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
Titles-Only Search Toggle: A switch in Advanced Search limits matching to conversation titles, for when you rename chats deliberately and want exactly those threads.
Context-Window Meter on ChatGPT: The live context gauge (already on Claude, Gemini, and Grok) came to ChatGPT, with a cross-platform handoff that summarizes a full conversation and continues it in a fresh chat on any assistant.

Project Structure in Manage Chats (ChatGPT): Conversations grouped under their ChatGPT Project for clearer navigation
Sidebar Tag Wrapping (ChatGPT): Smart Tags now wrap cleanly in the sidebar instead of overflowing
Bulk Move Selected Items: Move a mixed selection of chats and subfolders into another folder in one action, with a folder-search filter for deep hierarchies

Major Features
Grok Support: Grok became the fourth supported assistant, spanning both x.com/i/grok and grok.com under one identity, with folders, search, prompt library, bookmarks, and export.
Streaming ZIP Export Engine: Bulk, folder, and media exports now stream to disk as they render instead of building the whole archive in memory, so very large backups (thousands of chats or images) complete reliably with full ZIP64 support.
PDF Export Renders Math, Code & RTL: Exported PDFs now render LaTeX equations, real monospace code blocks, and right-to-left content correctly, on every platform.
Originating Chat URL in Every Export: TXT, Markdown, JSON, and PDF exports now include a link back to the source conversation.

Accent-Insensitive & CJK Search: Searching now folds accents (so "skoda" matches "Škoda") and handles exact-word matching for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and punctuation-terminated queries
Keyboard Shortcuts on Any Layout: Search shortcuts now work on non-US keyboard layouts and Linux by matching the physical key
Floating Toolbox Pins Survive Site-Data Clears: Your configured quick-access slots are mirrored to extension storage, so they persist through browser restarts and privacy cleaners
Cross-Source Search Hardening: The unified on-device index defaults to off and is enabled per your choice; writes are origin-scoped and results render in a closed shadow root

Which AI assistants does AI Toolbox support?
AI Toolbox supports ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok from a single install. ChatGPT has been supported since launch; Claude and Gemini were added in June 2026 and Grok in July 2026. With the cross-platform layer enabled, your search, tags, folders, and prompts work across all four together. Everything runs on Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc).
Will my data be affected by updates?
No. All AI Toolbox updates are designed to be backward-compatible with your existing data. Your folders, pins, saved prompts, and settings are automatically migrated to new versions. We test extensively before each release to minimize any disruption. As an extra precaution, we recommend using the bulk export feature periodically to create local backups.
How do I know when a new version is released?
Chrome automatically updates extensions in the background, usually within 24-48 hours of release. You'll see in-product notes highlighting new features after an update. Can I roll back to a previous version?
While Chrome doesn't officially support version rollback, we maintain stability across updates to minimize the need for one. If you encounter a critical bug after an update, please contact our support team. We typically release hotfix patches quickly for critical issues.
Do free and paid users get the same updates?
Yes. All users receive the same core feature updates, bug fixes, and performance improvements regardless of plan. The differences between plans are usage limits and premium features (such as unlimited folders, full-text search, bulk export, and prompt chaining). Cross-device sync is included on every plan. What happened to a feature that changed or was removed?
Occasionally we rework or retire features based on usage data, feedback, or store policy. When that happens, we document it in release notes and, where relevant, replace it with a better alternative. Are there breaking changes I should know about?
We avoid breaking changes whenever possible. If a major architectural change affects your workflow, we provide advance notice, migration handling, and backward compatibility during the transition. Any breaking change is clearly called out in the release notes.
