The gap
grok.com offers Projects, a History list, a search that matches titles only and delete one chat at a time. Grok inside X has no history sidebar and no search, only X's bookmark for a whole conversation. Neither surface exports a conversation, shows how full the context window is, or saves a prompt for reuse.
That is fine for a dozen chats. Daily users pass a hundred within weeks, and at that point the cost is real: minutes scrolling for a thread you know exists, a thread split between X and grok.com, and work redone because the earlier conversation could not be located. A browser extension is the only way to add the missing layer inside grok.com and x.com.

Click the bookmark icon under any Grok reply, give it one of six colour labels, and it appears in the Bookmarks viewer in Grok's top bar with its conversation title, from either surface. Smart Tags
Smart Tags reads each cached conversation locally and files it under Coding, Math and Science, Research, Writing or Business, with custom keyword rules for your own labels, and chats from grok.com and X land in the same view. Context Meter
A live gauge on the composer estimates how much of the conversation's context window is used and roughly how many messages are left, with the window size selectable. Free on every plan. When it runs high, Premium can summarize the chat and continue in a fresh one.
Bulk actions and export
Manage Chats lists every conversation with its date. Multi-select, then move the selection into a folder (free), or export the batch as TXT, Markdown with YAML frontmatter, JSON or PDF, or delete it. Single-chat TXT export is free; the other formats and bulk export or delete are Premium.

Not by default. Search History opens from the AI Toolbox menu on Grok, and you can assign your own key to it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. Cross-platform search across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Grok has its own global shortcut, Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Period, once you opt in.
