The gap
grok.com has a history view with a search icon, and Grok inside X has no history sidebar at all. xAI documents no way to search inside messages and no date, role or exact-match filters on either surface.
That helps you find a chat on grok.com. It does not help with the way most people use Grok: an error it fixed in March, the analysis that cited the right source, a phrasing you liked in a draft. Those live inside replies, and with no documented message search the dependable native route is to open chats one by one and use the browser's Ctrl+F, or to scroll x.com/i/grok by hand.

Grok lives in two places, and X has no sidebar for it at all. AI Toolbox indexes conversations from both surfaces into one local database, and its folders give the x.com side the organisation X never built. Search, file or export a chat regardless of where you had it.
