What Claude models are available in 2026?
Anthropic's current claude.ai lineup is Claude Opus 5, Claude Sonnet 5, Claude Haiku 4.5. Claude Opus 5 is the flagship for complex reasoning and agentic coding; Claude Sonnet 5 is the speed and intelligence balance most people should default to; Claude Haiku 4.5 is the fastest and cheapest. The Claude 4.x generation remains on the API but is superseded.
Which Claude model should I use?
For hard reasoning, long documents and serious coding, Claude Opus 5. For everyday work that still needs strong quality, Claude Sonnet 5. For speed and volume, Claude Haiku 4.5. Opus 5 and Sonnet 5 both take up to 1 million tokens of context with 128K max output; Haiku 4.5 takes 200K with 64K, so very long documents also push you toward the larger two.
What do the Claude plans cost?
Claude has a Free tier, Pro at $20 a month, Max at $100 or $200 a month depending on the usage tier, and Team and Enterprise plans for organisations. Higher tiers raise usage limits and unlock more Opus access. The pricing guide above lists what each plan includes, per-model API prices included, as of its publication date.
