We did not run the rival extensions on a ChatGPT account, so their features and limits are as their developers state them. We left star ratings out; they are one click away on each listing.
ChatGPT Bulk Delete Extensions Compared
Free limits range from one run of 10 chats a day to no stated limit, and listed paid plans start at $4.90 a month. User counts and dates are from the Chrome Web Store on November 4, 2026.
Match the extension to the job, because no single one is the best at everything.
Free, no account, ChatGPT only: ChatGPT Bulk Delete (multi-select) says it is free and that donations unlock nothing, and its store label declares no data collection. DeclutterGPT lists no paid plan either, but it was last updated in June 2026.
Lowest one-time price: ChatGPT Bulk Delete (qcrao) costs $39.90 once, if you accept Google sign-in, which applies even on its free plan.
Finding old chats by date: Bulk Delete for ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini lists age filters, date ranges and skipping Projects, Gems and pinned chats by default on its free plan.
ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini with no paid plan: Bulk delete ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini Chats covers all three, and its store label declares no data collection.
Cleanup plus everything else: AI Toolbox fits if deleting is only part of the problem and you also want full-text search and folders, with bulk export on Premium.
What Each Extension Can Access
Three of the seven packages contact no outside server that we could find, and four do, including ours. This table comes from each manifest.json and the code bundled with it, plus the privacy label on each listing. An outside server is not evidence of misuse. Paid plans need somewhere to check your license, so it mainly tells you which developer's privacy policy to read.

Three points help you read it:
identity.email gives an extension access to your email address, and Chrome warns "Know your email address" when you install it (Chrome permissions list). The qcrao extension says it uses your Google account for sign-in and plan access.
Our own label is the longest here because AI Toolbox does more than delete. Our extension safety guide states what leaves your browser and what does not.
Developers explain their own servers. Delete All Chats says it sends a random identifier, extension version, browser language and approximate country, not your email or chats. Bulk Delete for ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini says chat content and titles never leave your browser. We did not audit those statements.
Deleting is only half of a messy sidebar. AI Toolbox (formerly ChatGPT Toolbox) adds checkbox bulk delete, full-text search and folders to ChatGPT, and the Free plan deletes up to 5 chats per action.
The name "ChatGPT Bulk Delete" tells you nothing about who wrote the code. On November 4, 2026 we found four separate Chrome Web Store listings with that exact name, with about 70,000, 693, 110 and 77 users. Check the extension ID in the address bar and the developer details at the bottom of the listing.
The risk is real. In January 2026, LayerX reported 16 malicious "ChatGPT Mods" extensions that copied the ChatGPT session token, and the names they used included "ChatGPT bulk delete". A bulk delete tool needs access to your signed-in ChatGPT session to work, so choose the publisher as carefully as the feature list. Four of the packages we read (DeclutterGPT, both multi-platform extensions and the multi-select one) send their delete request to ChatGPT's own conversation endpoint through that session.
How AI Toolbox Handles Bulk Delete

The Free plan deletes or archives up to 5 chats per action, and Premium removes the cap and adds Select All Chats and bulk export. It runs on Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc and other Chromium browsers, on desktop only.
One difference from a delete-only tool is the safety net: on every plan, Recently Deleted Chats keeps a copy on your device for 30 days, up to 5,000 chats. It covers only chats AI Toolbox had already indexed and does not put a chat back into ChatGPT, so export anything you need first. Where it falls short: at 5 chats per action, the Free plan is slow for a large cleanup, and a free tool with no listed limit may suit a one-off job better.
