How to see all your ChatGPT images in one place
AI Toolbox's Media Gallery shows the images you made with ChatGPT in one window. Open it from the round button in the bottom-right corner. Click an image to see its prompt, hover it to Download it or add it to Favorites. The free plan shows 5 images and 2 favorites. Premium is unlimited and adds Download All.
Step by step
Step 1: Open Media Gallery from the AI Toolbox button
Move your mouse over the round AI Toolbox button in the bottom-right corner of ChatGPT. Five small round buttons fan out around it. Point at them to see their names, and click Media Gallery.
You can also click the round button, type gallery in the search box, and press Enter.
You should see: A window called Media Gallery with your images in a grid on the left.
If you changed your five buttons, press Cmd+K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows, type gallery and press Enter.
Step 2: Click an image to see its details
Click any image in the grid. It appears large on the right side of the window, with the date and the words you used to make it. Scroll down in the grid to load more images.
On the free plan, you see 5 images. After them come a few blurred tiles and a button to upgrade.
You should see: The large image on the right, with a Prompt heading, a Copy Prompt button and a Go to conversation link.
Step 3: Reuse a prompt or open its chat
Click Copy Prompt to copy the words that made the image. Paste them into a new message to make a similar image.
Click Go to conversation to open the chat where you made the image.
You should see: The prompt is ready to paste, or the chat opens.
Step 4: Download one image
Move your mouse over an image in the grid. Two small buttons appear on it. Click Download to save the full size image. This works on the free plan.
You should see: The image in your browser's downloads list.
Step 5: Mark your favorite images
Point at an image and click the heart. Its label is Favorite. Click the heart again to remove it.
Click Favorites above the grid to see only your favorites. Click All to see everything again. The free plan keeps 2 favorites.
You should see: The message Added to favorites! and a small heart on the image.
Step 6: Search your images by prompt
Click the box that says Search by prompt text... and type a few words. The grid shows only images whose prompt has all of those words, in any order. For example, red cat finds a cat in a red hat.
Delete the words to see every image again.
You should see: Only the matching images, or No results found if nothing matches.
Step 7: Download your whole library (Premium)
Click Download All at the top of the window. AI Toolbox collects every image, even ones you have not scrolled to yet, and saves them in one ZIP file (a single file that holds many files). Inside, each chat gets its own folder.
If you typed a search or opened Favorites, only those images are saved. Your browser may ask where to save the file first. A progress window shows how many images are done. To finish early, click Stop and keep what is done.
On the free plan, the button has a Premium badge and shows Batch download is a Premium feature.
You should see: The message Files successfully downloaded! and a file called chatgpt-images.zip.
That's it. You have finished every tutorial in this section.
If something doesn't look right
It says No images yet
Media Gallery shows images that ChatGPT made for you in this account. Ask ChatGPT to create an image, then open Media Gallery again. Pictures you uploaded yourself are not shown.
I only see 5 images and some blurred tiles
The free plan shows 5 images. The blurred tiles stand for the rest of your library. You can still download those 5 one by one. Premium shows every image.
An upgrade window opened when I clicked a heart
The free plan keeps 2 favorites. Remove one by clicking its heart again, then add the new one. Premium gives you unlimited favorites.
Media Gallery is not one of my five buttons
Press Cmd+K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows, type gallery and press Enter. To bring the button back, right-click one of the five small buttons and pick Media Gallery from the list.
The download finished but says some images were skipped
A few images could not be fetched from ChatGPT at that moment. The ZIP file has everything else. Try Download All again later to get the missing ones.
Free and Premium
The free plan shows 5 images and lets you keep 2 favorites. Downloading one image at a time is free. Premium shows every image, gives you unlimited favorites, and adds Download All, which saves your whole library as one ZIP file.
- Free: 5 images shown, 2 favorites, and single image Download.
- Premium: every image, unlimited favorites, and Download All as one ZIP file with a folder for each chat.
- Shows images that ChatGPT created. Pictures you uploaded to ChatGPT are not included.
What ChatGPT does on its own
ChatGPT keeps the images you create in its own Images area, so you can find them again without scrolling through chats. It also saves files you upload in its Library.
AI Toolbox's Media Gallery adds favorites, a search by prompt, a copy prompt button, a link back to each image's chat, and with Premium a single ZIP download of your whole image library sorted by chat.
