How to find every AI Toolbox feature

Every AI Toolbox feature starts from the round button in the bottom-right corner of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok. On ChatGPT, click it to open the Command Palette and type what you want, or hover over it for five quick buttons. On Claude, Gemini and Grok, click it for a list of features. This button is free on every plan.

Step by step

  1. Step 1: Find the round button in the bottom-right corner

Open ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok and look at the bottom-right corner of the page. The round AI Toolbox button starts there, on the home page and inside chats.

The small label on top of it names your AI Toolbox plan: FREE, or MONTHLY, ANNUAL, LIFETIME or TEAM when Premium is on. Point at it to see the full name, for example AI Toolbox plan: Lifetime. Clicking it does nothing. A small ring with a percent number above the button is the Context Meter, which shows how full the chat is.

You can move the button. Point at it and it says Drag to move. Hold the mouse button down on it, move it where you like and let go. The plan label and the Context Meter move with it. A short click does not move it. It opens AI Toolbox as usual.

You should see: A round button with a small plan label on top, such as FREE.

  2. Step 2: On ChatGPT, click the button to open the Command Palette

Click the round button. You can also press Cmd+K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows.

A search window opens in the middle of the page. AI Toolbox calls it the Command Palette. It lists every feature, sorted into groups.

You should see: A search box at the top that says Search AI Toolbox features...

  3. Step 3: Type what you want to do

Type a plain word such as delete, export, folders or prompts. The list shrinks to the features that match. Click one to open it, or use the arrow keys and press Enter.

You should see: Matching features, for example Manage Chats when you type delete.

Press Esc to close the Command Palette.

  4. Step 4: On ChatGPT, hover over the button for five quick buttons

Move your mouse over the round button without clicking. Five smaller buttons fan out above it and to its left.

At first they are Search History, Manage Chats, Manage Folders, Manage Prompts and Media Gallery. Click one to open it.

You should see: Five small round buttons in an arc next to the main button.

  5. Step 5: Change a quick button (optional)

Right-click any of the five small buttons. A window called Pin a feature to this slot opens. Click the feature you want in that spot.

An empty spot shows a +. Click it to choose a feature for it.

You should see: The feature you picked now sits in that spot.

  6. Step 6: On Claude, Gemini and Grok, click the button for the feature list

Click the round button. A window called AI Toolbox opens with one row for each feature, such as Search History, Manage Chats and Manage Folders. Click a row to open it.

These three sites have no Command Palette and no quick buttons. This list is the one place to start.

You should see: A window called AI Toolbox with a list of features.

  7. Step 7: Open the tutorials from inside AI Toolbox

Need help later? On ChatGPT, open the Command Palette, type tutorials and click Tutorials. On Claude, Gemini and Grok, click Tutorials in the AI Toolbox list.

You should see: These step-by-step tutorials open in a new tab.

That's it. You have finished every tutorial in this section.

If something doesn't look right

I don't see the round button

Refresh the page. The button shows only on the home page and inside chats, not on settings or other pages. For Claude, Gemini and Grok, the site must be switched on in the AI Toolbox panel on your toolbar. On X, the button shows only on the Grok page at x.com/i/grok. If you moved the button, it stays where you left it on that site. To put it back, move it close to the bottom-right corner and let go.

The round button moved up on ChatGPT

That is on purpose. When ChatGPT's message box reaches the bottom-right corner, for example with a Full chat width, AI Toolbox lifts the button so it does not cover the send button. It goes back down when there is room again. A button you moved yourself stays where you put it.

Hovering does not show five buttons on Claude

The five quick buttons and the Command Palette are only on ChatGPT. On Claude, Gemini and Grok, click the round button and pick a feature from the AI Toolbox list.

Cmd+K or Ctrl+K does nothing

This shortcut works only on chatgpt.com. Click once inside the ChatGPT page and try again, or just click the round button in the bottom-right corner. On Claude, Gemini and Grok, use the round button.

A prompt feature is missing from the list

The prompt features are hidden when the Prompt tools switch is off. Open Settings from the round button, find the Prompts section and switch Prompt tools back on. The prompt features then return on all four sites.

Free and Premium

The round button, the Command Palette and the feature list are free for everyone. Some features inside have free limits, shown in each tutorial.

  • The round button, the Command Palette, the quick buttons and the feature list are free for everyone.
  • The Command Palette, Cmd+K or Ctrl+K, and the five quick buttons are on ChatGPT only.
  • Your quick button choices are saved in this browser.
