How to bookmark messages in Claude

AI Toolbox adds a bookmark icon to the small row of buttons under each Claude message. Click it to save that message. Later, click Bookmarks at the top of the chat, next to Share, and click a saved message to jump straight to it. The free plan lets you bookmark messages in 2 chats. Premium has no limit.

Step by step

  1. Open a chat

    Click a chat in Claude's list on the left side of the page.

    You should see: The chat's messages on screen.

  2. Bookmark a message

    Move your mouse over the message you want to keep. A small row of buttons shows under it, starting with Claude's Copy button. The bookmark icon from AI Toolbox is right after Copy. Click it.

    You should see: The message Message successfully bookmarked!, a filled bookmark icon, and the message softly highlighted.

  3. Open your bookmarks

    At the top right of the chat, next to Claude's Share button, click Bookmarks.

    You should see: A window called Bookmarks listing the messages you saved in this chat, in order.

  4. Jump to a saved message

    Click a message in the list.

    You should see: The window closes and the page scrolls to that message.

  5. Remove a bookmark

    Click the filled bookmark icon under the message again, or click the bookmark icon next to it in the Bookmarks window.

    You should see: The message Message successfully unbookmarked!

If something doesn't look right

I don't see the bookmark icon under a message

Move your mouse over the message so Claude shows its row of buttons. If the icon is still missing, wait a second or scroll a little, since Claude redraws that row. Messages from the last few minutes get the icon after AI Toolbox has synced the chat, which can take a few minutes.

An upgrade window opened when I bookmarked a message

The free plan lets you bookmark messages in 2 chats. You tried to bookmark in a third chat. Remove all bookmarks from one of your 2 chats, or upgrade to Premium.

My bookmarks are gone on my other computer

Claude bookmarks are saved in this browser only, so they do not appear on other computers or other browsers. They also stay with the Claude account you used, so switching accounts shows only that account's bookmarks.

It says Could not reach that message

The message may have been removed or edited in Claude. Remove that bookmark from the Bookmarks window.

The free plan lets you bookmark messages in 2 chats, with as many bookmarks as you like inside those 2 chats. Premium lets you bookmark messages in every chat. Bookmarks are saved in this browser only.
