How to bookmark a Gemini answer

AI Toolbox adds a bookmark button under every Gemini answer. Click it to save that answer, and click the tag button next to it to add a color. To find saved answers, open the chat's three-dot menu in the top-right corner and click Bookmarks, then click Open. The free plan saves 2 bookmarks. Premium saves as many as you like.

Step by step

  1. Open a chat

    On the left side of Gemini, click a chat that has the answer you want to keep.

    You should see: The chat with Gemini's answers.

  2. Find the bookmark button under an answer

    Under each Gemini answer is a row of small buttons, such as thumbs up, thumbs down and copy. AI Toolbox adds a bookmark button to that row.

    Move your mouse over it to see Bookmark this message.

    You should see: A small bookmark icon in the row of buttons under the answer.

  3. Click the bookmark

    Click the bookmark icon. The answer is saved.

    You should see: The icon fills in and the answer gets a colored mark on its side.

  4. Add a color (optional)

    A tag button appears next to the bookmark (point at it to see Color). Click it and pick one of the 6 color dots: red, orange, green, blue, purple or pink.

    Use colors for groups, like green for ideas and red for to-dos. Click Remove color to take the color off.

    You should see: The bookmark and the mark on the answer change to that color.

  5. Open your list of bookmarks

    Click the three dots in the top-right corner of the page, then click Bookmarks.

    On a new, empty chat, click the bookmark icon in the bar at the top of the page instead. You can also open Bookmarks from the AI Toolbox window.

    You should see: A window called Bookmarks with every answer you saved.

  6. Jump to a saved answer

    Type in the Search bookmarks... box or click a color dot to filter. Then click Open next to a bookmark.

    You should see: Gemini opens that chat and scrolls to the answer, which flashes so you can spot it.

  7. Remove a bookmark

    Click the filled bookmark icon under the answer again (it says Remove bookmark).

    You should see: The icon is empty again and the answer is no longer in your list.

If something doesn't look right

I don't see a bookmark button

Bookmarks go on Gemini's answers, not on your own messages, and only in a saved chat. Open the chat from the left side of the page. If the button is still missing, refresh the page.

An upgrade window opened when I bookmarked an answer

The free plan saves 2 bookmarks in total, and bookmarks you saved with AI Toolbox on ChatGPT with the same email address count toward those 2. Remove one you no longer need by clicking its bookmark icon again, or upgrade to Premium for unlimited bookmarks.

There is no three-dot menu at the top of the page

A new, empty chat has no menu yet. Use the bookmark icon in the bar at the top of the page, or open the AI Toolbox button and click Bookmarks.

Open took me to the chat but not to the answer

In a long chat, Gemini may still be loading older messages. Wait a moment, then click Open again from the Bookmarks list.
