Step 1: Open Settings
Go to gemini.google.com. Click the round AI Toolbox button in the bottom-right corner of the page. A window called AI Toolbox opens with a list of features.

Step 6: Choose the other switches

Step 7: Fix missing chats in search (if needed)

If something doesn't look right
I can't find the Settings button
The round AI Toolbox button only shows on the Gemini home page, chat pages and Gem pages. If you are on the search page, open any chat first, then click the button and choose Settings.
A color opened an upgrade window
The free plan includes the first 2 colors, blue and green. The other 6 accent colors are Premium. Click Maybe later to close the window and pick a free color.
My folders disappeared from the left side
Check that Show folder tree in the sidebar is on under Folders, and that Panel placement is set to In the sidebar. Also open the left side of Gemini with the menu button in the top-left corner.
Saved prompts, // and .. stopped working
Under Prompts, turn Prompt tools back on. Then refresh the Gemini page.
Do my settings change Gemini itself?
No. These settings only change AI Toolbox. Gemini's own options, such as your activity and account, are in Gemini's own settings at the bottom left of the page.
